Small scale DAB Digital Radio enables community and local broadcasters to be heard on radios and in cars across a local area.
From music stations offering an increased choice of listening, to church groups, colleges, venues, hospital radio or 'pop up' special events, DAB Digital Radio offers opportunities to attract listeners and get local ears on what you have to say.
Thanks to the digital listening revolution, small scale, localised services are launching across the UK and broadcasting with ease and at low cost.
Broadcasting regulator Ofcom are now welcoming applications to operate the transmitters in Conwy County and Sound Bay Community Digital intends to apply for this licence. Sound Bay is a not-for-profit joint collaboration between Bayside Radio and Sound Radio.

Sound Bay Community Digital has been established to promote the growth of community led media in North Wales and expand the cultural diversity of the beautiful area we live and work in.
We have teamed up with one of the leading providers of digital radio technology to plan launch coverage across the main areas of population in Conwy County including Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and Conwy. Coverage is expected to increase over time with additional transmitters planned for the southern parts of the Conwy Valley and other areas shielded by our challenging coast and country terrain.
** Ofcom predicted total area coverage. Not all coverage will be available at launch. Launch areas are shown below. + Stats Wales Ability to speak Welsh Conwy County 2021.
